Hope Homes of the Ozarks Adult & Teen Challenge Application

Hope Homes of the Ozarks Adult & Teen Challenge is holistic – meaning that we are concerned with the body, mind, and spirit of those who come to us for help. We endeavor to help people become mentally sound, emotionally balanced, socially adjusted, physically well and spiritually alive.

Hope Homes, the Springfield Adult and Teen Challenge, is a 12-month program. The first nine months the student lives at the residential care facility that helps men ages 18+ struggling with alcohol and drug addictions. For the final three months, the student moves to a re-entry home to acclimate back into society and save money. We teach a character and leadership skills-based curriculum and encourage them to follow a more healthy lifestyle.

Within this program students live and grow together toward healthy lives free from addiction. Students are separated from influences that previously triggered the need to turn to drugs or alcohol. New students are able to draw strength and encouragement from other students nearing completion of the program. Lifelong friendships often develop, as a result, students have the opportunity to start fresh in the company of others in the same situation.

Going through the program in the context of a community means that students must learn positive conflict resolution skills and how to express themselves in a healthy way rather than by turning to drugs. Students break old habits and replace them with new patterns of behavior such as learning to be respectful of others, learning to sacrifice for others, and learning to be accountable to others.

In order to get accepted into the Hope Home, applicants must first go through an application and interview process.
