At this year's Hope Home BBQ Benefit, you'll be well-sated not just with mouth-watering BBQ, but with mind-opening presentations on the topics of how we can tackle addiction and recovery in our city. You will leave educated on the effects of addiction on the individual, family and community, empowered with knowledge and resources to make a difference, and finally, connected with a community that is dedicated to ending addiction.
KEYNOTE SPEAKER
John Alarid is the founder and lead pastor of Freedom City Church. He is also the Founder and CEO of Hope Homes of the Ozarks Adult & Teen Challenge and Straight Street Inc. Sober Living Homes in Springfield, Missouri.
These are components of Freedom City Movement, which is dedicated to community development and transformation on the Northside of Springfield, Missouri. This community is devastated by addiction, poverty, domestic violence, and mass incarceration.
John provides housing, programs, a faith community, workforce development, and education for Returning Citizens (formerly incarcerated persons), those who have struggled with substance use disorder, and people without homes.
